As part of observance of World Health Day on 7th April 2022, IPGA (Kerala State Branch) organized an Essay Writing Competition for students in various Pharmacy Colleges of Kerala. The topic for the contest was “IMPACT OF PHARMACEUTICAL WASTE ON GLOBAL HEALTH”. We offered Rs. 3000/- for first prize winner, Rs. 2000/- for second prize winner and Rs.1000/- for third prize winner along with merit certificates. The results of the competition were declared on the occasion of a national webinar conducted by the Association on 10th April 2022. First Prize: Ms. N.Parvathy; Second Prize: Ms. Gayathri Vinodan; Third Prize: Shared by: Rohith Krishnan & Ms Sana Zainab.

IPGA (Kerala State Branch) in association organized a webinar for regulatory officers across the country on the topic “Arresting Powers and Procedures of Drug Regulatory Officers: A review based on Honorable Supreme Court Judgment”. Dr. Atul Kumar Nasa, President, IPGA, inaugurated the webinar and Mr. Jayan PM, Drugs Controller, Kerala State was the Guest of INDIAN PHARMACY GRADUATE’S ASSOCIATION KERALA STATE BRANCH Honour in the function. Mr. Premnath, Senior Grade Assistant Public Prosecutor, Directorate of Prosecutions, Government of Kerala was the speaker of the webinar. It was a great success with the participation of 150 plus participants across the country.
After the last CEC Meeting in Delhi, IPGA, Kerala branch jointly with KPG conducted National seminar called Kerala Pharmacy Congress (KPC 2023) on 25 and 26th of February 2023, a national Pharma Seminar at St. James College of Pharmacy, Chalakkudy, for the first time in Kerala. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Montu Kumar Patel, President, PCI. The programme has presence of national President of IPGA, Dr, Atul Kumar Nasa, Drugs Controller, Kerala, Mr. Jayan MP, President IDMA, South, Mr. Jayaseelan, Dr. Mohan Kunnemmel, VC, Kerala University of Health Sciences, National President, AIDCCO Mr. Raj Bhanu. Inauguration It was a mega programme with 1400 registrations including teachers and students. Awards given to stalwarts of Pharmacy in Kerala. National symposiums were conducted. Poster presentations were arranged and price distributed. 2. The General body of the IPGA, Kerala was convened on 25th February at Chalakkudy with more than 40 attendees. Dr. Atul Kumar Nasa had a very vibrant interaction with all the members from various faculties of IPGA in detail. Major issues were discussed. Detailed deliberations were out on membership development. 20 members are already ready for joining IPGA in April. Another 30 will join in another 3-4 weeks. 3. We have already had initial discussions with the CEO, Start UP Mission, Govt of Kerala Mr.Anoop Ambika, for conducting a one day seminar for 500 Pharmacy graduates and students from the state for converging the spirits towards startups in Pharma, Medical Devices segments in Mfg, Quality Labs, QAQC, Regulatory, Clinical Trials, academic fields. Start Up Mission will host the one-day programme jointly with IPGA, Kerala and foster all the supports form Govt side to empower the Pharmacy Graduates to utilise the avenues available for Startups from the Govt. As of now, we have 750 startups in Medical Devices alone. 4. Physical meetings are planned in Thiruvananthapuram before 31st May involving Pharmacy professionals and Drugs Control Dept.
